Lisa M. Meeks, Ph.D, MA
Dr. Meeks has over twenty years of experience working with high achieving students with disabilities and has developed specific expertise in the field of disability services for students and trainees in health science and medical education.
She is co-developer of the AAMC Webinar Series on Working with Students with Disabilities in Medical Education, The Faculty Training Series for UCSF and presents Grand Rounds and conducts training on disability-related topics around the country.
She is particularly skilled in the provision of clinical accommodations, in both hospital and clinic settings. Dr. Meeks is the co-founder and past President of the Coalition for Disability Access in Health Science and Medical Education, co-editor and an author of the seminal text on disability and health science, Co-Principal Investigator on the AAMC/UCSF Lived Experience Project, and lead author of the AAMC/UCSF Report,Accessibility, Inclusion, and Action in Medical Education: Lived Experiences of Learners and Physicians With Disabilities.
Dr. Meeks specializes in working with medical/health science programs on disability policy and programmatic review; faculty training; complex case review; and serves as an expert witness for disability-related litigation.
